My excitement surrounding the expansion from food trailer to brick & mortar was equally matched by Polly Fowler’s always-welcoming, front-of-the-house smile at the Blind Pig’s first ever counter!

Friendly counter service was matched by the hard working kitchen staff, which happens to also be owners, as they walked food to the counter after you filled up on Southern Tea (Sweet Tea), Unsweet Tea, and California Tea (Water).

Rarely do you see a salad described, as decadent however this pre-dressed Caesar salad topped with juicy brisket, boiled egg, bacon, and homemade croutons was just that! If you were an Atkins or Keto dieter, this was made for you minus the croutons, which I recommend eating even if you are a low-carber.

I also “stole” some hand cut fries from friends just to try the homemade BBQ-ketchup. This was a good decision on my part that resulted in ordering an additional side of fries for the table.

The limited menu resembles their food trailer specialties and the only additions I noticed were the welcomed salads that you could order with or without meat and also the hand cut fries have replaced bagged chips.

Prices vary up to $12 however when you consider the time and effort to locally source as much as possible and the level of handmade items, you know your lunch is literally supporting local farmers, families, and food lovers like you.

Have no fear; these pigs have listened to their customers and kept the local favorites and homemade sauces. You will still be able to order the Old Fashioned, Angry Hawaiian, and Q-ritto.

Three Quick Bites:
The brisket was juicy as it should be and seasoned well.
Pre-dressed salads are my fave.
The croutons are heavenly.

Possible criteria:
• Noise: It’s not quiet
• Would you go back: Yes
• Anything you would suggest: More acid in the salad to cut some of the richness
• Bang for your bite: Yes #loveLOCAL
• Must Try: Any new additions
• Want to bite next: Dessert which Polly says is on its way!
